Opened in 2004, the Grange aux Moines farm contains farm animals that have become so rare in the Ile de France. Over its 10 hectares, visitors can get close to goats, ewes, donkeys, cows, pigs and horses as well as most of the typical farmyard animals. Numerous events such as country produce markets, open days, apple-juice making and sheepdog trails are staged during the year, with programmes featured on the web site, and farm produce is available on site.
The farm has become a major tourist site in the Essonne, with attractions to delight children and adults alike.
The Grange aux Moines was awarded the Ile-de-France Grand Prix du Tourisme in 2005.
