Urban course and countryside course. Chevry is an urban course which is in no way a poor relative of its country cousins. Situated in the town of Gif-sur-Yvette, where Alfred Faucher, the inventor of the car rear-view mirror lived, as did Fernand Léger who lived at Le Gros Tilleul, once the town's ballroom and scene of the opening in 1972 of the Vietnam peace talks, the Chevry course is the only non-compact 9-hole course in the Essonne. It is a flat course surrounded by villas, pleasantly surprising in its garden-like setting which gives the impression of playing on a large estate. But beware of over-sliced balls: there are out-of-bounds area on 8 of the holes and 2 holes on your card are watery. Easy, you say? Try it!
