Accredited "Musée de France" This award-winning municipal museum is situated in what was an XVIIIth century salt warehouse converted a century later into living accommodation of which several bedrooms in the neo-Gothic style survive. The museum houses various collections of a high quality: pottery from archaeological sites, documents on the history of Dourdan, furniture, pharmacy jars from the old Hôtel-Dieu...as well as a very fine collection of paintings including a Virgin with Child attributed to Pieter Coeck van Aelst dating from the XVIth century... Temporary exhibitions and a children's discovery trail.
